Updating Photos
You can update children, family and staff photos using the mobile app, either by uploading a photo from your file system or by taking a new photo with your camera. Using your mobile phone's camera is the easiest way to update your photos in TimeSavr.
Tap the photo in the mobile app to view a larger version and change the photo. On a mobile device you'll be given the option to choose from files or use the camera. On a desktop or laptop device you'll be prompted to choose a photo from your file system.
Uploaded Photos Appearing Sideways
A common problem people have when uploading photos to the web is that they can appear sideways. This is because the photo was actually taken sideways, and most phones and tablets will not rotate the photo automatically.
What does that mean?
It means the top of your photo is determined by the camera design, not the way you hold your camera, so in order to make sure your photo does not appear sideways when uploaded, you have to hold your phone a certain way.
Keep in mind that when using your phone as a camera, this camera has a top and a bottom just like a traditional camera. Typically the "top" of your camera is the long side of your phone where the buttons are, so that when you're holding it in landscape mode with the camera app open, the camera controls (the shutter button, etc.) are on the right.

This is the correct way to take a photo with a mobile phone and this will ensure that your photo remains right side up when it's uploaded to the web. If you take a photo in portrait mode (with the top of your camera on the side) your photo will appear sideways when it's uploaded.
Uploading Existing Photos
If you're uploading a photo you'd taken previously, and you'd taken it in portrait mode (ie. sideways) there's still an easy way to fix it before you upload it to TimeSavr. Simply edit the photo and save it. This will then force the file system to save it in the rotation in which you're viewing it.
Note, you might have to make a slight modification to the photo before you're able to save it. This can be as simple as cropping it or adjusting the exposure just slightly. After editing and saving, your photo should upload right side up.
Uploading Daily Report Photos
If you're uploading a photo for a child's Daily Report on the mobile app, you don't have to worry about how the picture was taken, or if it's appearing sideways, because you can rotate it after you upload. Simply click the Rotate button on the photo and it will rotate 90° to the right.
