Symptom
On your subsidy claim report (Reports / Subsidy / Claim - Children) the number of children listed, does not match the number of children counted in the breakdown at the bottom of the report.
Cause #1
If you have more children on your list, than you do on the breakdown, you may have school aged children not marked correctly on their profiles. If a child is older than 6 but is not marked as either attending kindergarten or grade 1 to 6, then they will not be included on the breakdown.
Fix
To find out which children are not marked correctly, open Reports > Children > Child Checklist. Sort the list of children on birthdate, so that the oldest children are listed at the top. If the oldest are listed at the bottom, click the birthdate header again to reverse the sort. After sorting, it becomes easy to see the older children who are not marked correctly. Any child over the age of six with a missing checkmark, needs to be fixed.
Once you've determined which children need to be fixed, you can do so for each child on their Profile page.
Cause #2
If you have more children on the breakdown than you do on the list, you may have drop in children with zero hours. These kids will be included in the breakdown, but not on the list, so you'll have to deduct these numbers before submitting your grant claim.
Fix
To see how many children fit into this category, click on the total number for each age group in your breakdown, to open up the Grant Claim report for that age group. Drop in children with zero hours will be highlighted in cyan, and the total number will be displayed at the bottom of the report.
When claiming your grant, you must subtract the drop in children without hours, because those children are not eligible for the grant. So, in the example above, although the breakdown on the claim report is showing 3 children, 1 of those is a drop-in without hours, so you should only claim 2 children.
