Password Requirements
Regardless of the method you use for resetting your password, it must meet the following requirements.
- At least one lower case letter
- At least one upper case letter
- At least two numbers
- At least one special character (`!@#$%^&*()_+\-=[]{};:|,.<>/?~)
- At least 10 characters long
Passwords longer than 10 characters are recommended. The maximum password length is 32 characters.
Desktop App
In the desktop app, assuming you are logged in, you can change your password by selecting the "Change password" option from your user menu, which is the menu on your name in the top right hand corner.
If you do not see this Change Password option in your user menu, or you don't have a user menu, then you do not have the security privilege to change your password. Ask your system administrator to either change your password for you, or grant you this privilege.
Mobile App
On the mobile app, you can tap the "Password" button at the top of the main menu. As with the desktop app, you must have been granted the "change password" security privilege. If you do not see this option, contact your administrator.
Update for Other Users
Administrators, with access to the Timesavr security options, are able to update passwords on behalf of other users. If you are an administrator and your staff need their password to be reset, you can do so by going to Admin > Security > Users, and then clicking Change Password after you select the user in question. This method is recommended over having the users click the Reset Password link on the login page, because the reset password may get emailed to an inbox that they don't have access to.
Reset Password
If the above listed methods are not available to you because you are not logged in, or you can not reach an administrator, then as a last resort you can use the Reset password link on the login page.
Password Reset
When using the "Reset Password" option, you will receive an email with a link that you can use to reset your password. The reset link expires after 30 minutes and can only be used once.
