Assigning Children to a Room

Assigning Children to a Room

Attendance List

In order for a child to be listed on the attendance list, they must be in an active status and be assigned to the room, either as a primary room or an alternate room.  If the child has a start date in the future, then they will not be listed until that day.

Assign Children

The child's room can be assigned on the child's individual room page, or you may assign multiple children at once by selecting "Assign children" from the attendance list for the room in question.  This option is found at the bottom of the list.

Currently assigned children are also listed, but are already selected and can not be unselected.  To remove children from the list, please see the next section on removing children.

Sorting

To make it easier to find the children you want to assign, this list can be sorted on any column by clicking on the column header.  To sort in reverse order, click the heading again.  You can also sort on multiple columns at the same time, by holding the SHIFT key down while you click on headings for each columns.

Options

When assigning children, you can choose to assign the current room as a primary room, or an alternate room.  Each child can have only one primary room, so if you're assigning this as a primary for a child who already has a primary, their primary room will be updated.

When assigning the room as a primary, you also have the option of making the assignment effective immediately, or on a future date.  If you select a future date, then an enrolment plan will be created for each selected child, which will be activated on your selected date.  If an enrolment plan already exists for the selected date for a given child, then that plan will be modified to include this room.

No future date can be selected for alternate room assignments.

Remove Children

Children can be removed from a room on an individual child's room page, or in bulk by selecting "Remove children" from the attendance list for your selected room.

When removing children using the bulk method, all assigned children will be listed, whether it is their primary room or alternate room.  When removing a child, they are removed from both the primary room list, as well as the alternate room list.
