Security profiles are found in Admin > Security > Security Profiles.
This page lists all your existing security profiles, if you have any. To create a new security profile, click anywhere on the New Security Profile bar.
Templates
When creating a new security profile, you must start with a template. Templates help you get started by creating security profiles that are pre-configured for common user roles. For example, if you're creating a security profile for daycare educator staff, select the Staff template. If you're creating a security profile for your bookkeeper, select the bookkeeper template. After creating your security profile, you can modify it as needed, so you're never locked into a template.
Template Name
Description
Full
Select this template if you want the user to have all or almost all security privileges. This is still different from Administrator in a couple of ways.
1. Administrators are never prompted for a security PIN if you have the PIN option enabled for staff profiles.
2. Administrators can always see all staff time off requests.
Blank
Select this template if you want to grant minimal privileges. After creating this template, you can go through the security categories and just enable only the privileges you want to grant. Doing it this way may be quicker than selecting one of the other template options.
Staff
This template is specifically intended for the daycare educator who works in direct childcare. It will give the user access to staff timesheets, time off requests, child attendance and emergency contact info, plus several other things typically required for educators.
Parents
This template is intended to be used for a user account which you're setting up to allow parents to sign their children in and out each day. If you choose to have the parents sign the children in and out, then they should never know the username and password, as you'll have a tablet or laptop set up by the front door ready to go when they come in. This profile will have access only to the room list and child attendance.
Office
The office template gives the user access to all features of the software with just a few exceptions. This template withholds access from the security pages (users and security profiles) as well as staff wages and the ability to generate EFT files.
Bookkeeper
The bookkeeper will have access to much of Timesavr, but not the ability to create or delete staff, children, families and rooms. Program types, ratio setup, security, staff admin records, child medical, custody information and other such non-financial features are also hidden from the bookkeeper.
Dayhome
The dayhome security profile is recommended to be used for all dayhome educators. It gives them access to only what they need to record child attendance and view emergency contact information. In addition to the security profile, it's also important that you select a provider profile restriction on the user setup, to ensure they do not have access to any dayhomes other than their own.
Modifying a Security Profile
After creating a security profile with one of the templates you can change the name, add a description, or delete the security profile by expanding the "Security Profile Options" panel at the top of your security profile.
Clicking on any of the security categories listed, reveals the options within. You can select options individually, or use the select all / unselect all options in the top right hand corner.
