Dayhome Attendance

Dayhome Attendance

Video Demo

This demo video will show you how to use the desktop app.  Read the documentation below for information on using the mobile app.

Mobile App

For dayhome educators, it is recommend that you use the Timesavr mobile app.  The video demo above demonstrates using the desktop app.  Either will work, but the mobile app has a more targeted design, so you may prefer it.  The mobile app can also be used on any screen size, including a desktop computer.  The following documentation will use screenshots from the mobile app as it would appear on a phone sized screen.  Screen layouts will appear slightly differently on a larger screen.

To log into the mobile app, download it from the store, or navigate to it in your browser.  The app is available in the Google Play store on Android devices, and on the Microsoft store on Windows devices.

Apple Users

On Apple devices, the app is not available in the store, but you can navigate to it in your browser at https://app.timesavr.net.  Once you're at the login page, add the app to your home screen so that you'll be able to launch it from an icon on your home screen the next time.  Click here for instructions on how to add the app to your home screen.

Note:  If you're manually adding the app to your home screen on an Apple device, you must use the Safari browser as other browsers are not allowed to install apps on Apple devices.

As a dayhome educator, you will be given a username and password by your agency.  Do not create your own Timesavr account.  When you open the app you will need to login with the username and password provided by your agency.

If it's your first time logging in, you might see a terms agreement page. If so, agree to the terms and continue.

If your agency has messaging and daily reports enabled, you will see all these options on your home screen.  Otherwise, you will be taken directly to your dayhome page.

Tracking Attendance

Your attendance page will list all children assigned to your home, as well as any backup children assigned.  Backup children will be listed with a light blue background.  To track attendance, click the IN button when a child arrives in the morning, and click the OUT button when the child leaves at the end of the day.  Recording attendance as you go throughout your day, simplifies the record keeping process and ensures that your records are always up to date.  The daily and monthly totals for each child are automatically calculated, and your own wage topup hours are automatically calculated based on child attendance.

If a child is in your care multiple times during a single day, like for example, a child who attends both before and after school, that's not a problem.  You can create as many attendance records in a day as you need to.  Just click the IN button again after school and a new record will be created.

Your agency may or may not have the ABS button enabled.  This button allows you to record an absence for the day.  Note:  an absence covers the entire day, so it can not be used, for example, if a child is in care before school, but not after school.

Backup Care

If a backup care child is assigned to your home, they will be listed on a light blue background.  This means the same child is also listed for the child's primary caregiver, and both educators have the ability to sign the child in or out.  However, assuming your agency has enabled the lock feature, the attendance record will be locked for one educator, if the other educator has signed the child in.  So if you sign in a backup care child, the primary care provider can see that time record but can not modify it, and vice versa.

Modifying Time Records

If necessary, these times can also be manually inputted or modified.  To do this, you can either select a time from the drop down, or manually type in your time.  The edit option is only available if a time record exists for that child, so only after a child has been signed in.

Manual Time Modifications

If you want to type in the time manually, there's no need to enter in the colon ( : ) and there's no need to type in the "m" for "am" or "pm".  In fact, if you're entering in a morning time, you don't even have have to type the "a" for "am" because it is the default.  If you need to enter in minutes less than 10, then you will need to use the colon before the minutes.

Late Pickup

If the late pickup option is enabled for your agency, if a child is signed out after your hours of operation, you will be prompted to enter in the number of late pickup minutes.  Type in the number of minutes and click Save.  If you don't want to charge for late minutes, click cancel on this prompt.

If you need to modify late pickup minutes after you've entered them, the option to modify will be visible only on a larger screen, so depending on your phone size you might see the option if you rotate your phone into landscape mode, or else you can open the app on a larger screen device such as a tablet or desktop computer by navigating to https://app.timesavr.net.

Family Contact Info

Family contact information is at your finger tips.  Tap the child's name, then select "Family".  When the family panel is opened, you will see both parents, all children in the family, as well as emergency contacts.  Each child's page also includes medical information.

Reporting

You can view summary and detail reports for child attendance records, by selecting from your Reports page.  The summary report totals all the hours for each child for the selected date range.  The default date range is the current month, but this can be modified on the report options panel which can be revealed by clicking the hamburger menu in the top left hand corner.   Only currently active children are included in the report.  If you need to see hours for a child who is no longer active, contact your agency.

Summary and detail reports can be opened independently, but the summary report also clicks through to the detail report for each child.
