Adding a New Family

Adding a New Family

Add a Family

To create a new family, select "New Family" from the Families menu.

The new family prompt requires only a family name.  This is typically the family's last name but can be any name that helps you identify the family.  In the case of a family where each child has a different last name, choose the name used by the primary parent.

Parents

As soon as you click Save on the New Family prompt, a family is created, and at this point you can start filling in the blanks for both the Mother and the Father, as well as adding children and emergency contacts.  You can upload photos for both parents, each child as well as each emergency contact.

The tab label for each parent corresponds to the value saved in "Relationship to Child".  These will default to "Mother" and "Father", if you're creating a family manually, but can be changed to suit.  On the online registration form, these fields do not have default values, but instead have placeholders which suggest "Mother" and "Father", and they are required to be filled in before the form is submitted.  Common alternatives to Mother and Father, are Grandma and Grandpa or Parent 1 and Parent 2.  The relationship you set here will be used throughout the system.

Add a Child

To add a child to the family, select "New Child" from the Family menu.

You can add as many children as you need, and for each child you enter, TimeSavr will generate a separate tab named according to the child.
